For children and adolescents to be retained in HIV care, services need to be friendly from the way health workers communicate with them, the time spent in the clinic flow and the engagements that occupy them during the clinic flow. That is why at Miles of Smiles through “Essanyu lya’abaana” Children’s happiness project, we are supporting 20 health facilities to provide child-friendly services through;
- the provision of a snack during their clinic appointment
- facilitating play with play materials and swings
- supporting health workers with child-friendly aprons
